  • Directorial Interpretation of a Dramatic Text
  • Psycho-analysis of characters and motivations. If you are currently studying Enlightenment or Absolutism this may work for you.
  • Analyzing Macbeth’s character via Machiavelli’s The Prince.
  • Gender dynamics – how staging influences an audience’s perception
  • Interpolations. Most modern directors cut 3.5 (Hecate’s scene) because it is not Shakespeare’s writing. How does this improve or worsen the show?

Today's Focus: Reviewed Turn-In Procedure for Macbeth Essays, Watched Macbeth Movie Projects! :)

Homework:
- Macbeth Essay due TOMORROW. Follow the below procedure:

  • Submit your final draft to turnitin.com by Wednesdaymorning at 7:25am.
    • Class: 13314074
    • Password: period4
  • Bring the following items to class on Wednesday in this prescribed order and format:
    • A clean, final draft of your paper. Stapled and ready to go. You may print double-sided.
    • Your peer edited second rough draft with Editor’s Guide stapled to the back
    • Your peer edited first rough draft with Editor’s Guide stapled to the back.
    • Your second outline.
    • Your first outline.
  • All of the above items should be individually stapled and included in a packet from top to bottom in the order above. They should be attached together with a paper clip.
  • If any of the items are being turned in for late credit, include a sticky note on the top of your packet which says, “Late Credit: _______” and write the necessary information.
  • In order to receive credit for this paper, you must turn in your paper both electronically on turnitin.com and physically via the packet in class on Wednesday. If you do not turn in your paper electronically, it will not be graded until you do so and will reflect as a 0 in the grade book until completed. Keep in Mind: If the paper you submit physically does not match the electronic submission, your paper will be deeply vetted for plagiarism.
  • REMEMBER: There are no extensions or late work for papers! Read the syllabus! If you are planning on being absent on Wednesday, you still must complete the turnitin.com submission on time, and in addition to that email your paper to Mrs. Fry by 7:25am. You will then turn in your packet when you return.
